The challenge our client faced

The COVID-19 pandemic had immediate impact on a lot of employees’ abilities to work on-site. Many of our clients did not have any policies or procedures in place, particularly in relation to personal protective equipment (PPE) or contact tracing when it came to supporting those who needed to remain onsite and those who now had to work remotely. For one of our clients, putting operations on hold to wait for these policies to be developed was not an option. Luckily, they were able to turn to PSS.

Our solution to their problem

Before the pandemic had taken hold, our senior leadership had anticipated its impact and put policies and procedures in place. By the time our client realised there was a problem, the Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions® network of companies already had contact-tracing logs up and running and required all PSS personnel to wear masks on-site.

PSS had a longstanding relationship with this client and, as part of their response team, invited them to tap into our policies and procedures while they developed their own. Eurofins PSS created a SharePoint site that made the process of monitoring and reporting leaner, faster and more efficient, saving the client nearly $80,000/€75,000 in time.

The results

Using a SharePoint site eliminated the need for employees to spend time logging in to Citrix, emailing the files, then compiling the data for all leaders and senior leadership. It gave PSS leadership live access to up-to-the-minute records and minimised not only the stress of this task for employees, but also the impact to the site’s productivity. With these measures in place, approximately 60% of PSS staff were able to continue working on-site throughout COVID.

Our client was able to adapt and streamline this system to their own needs, complimenting PSS on being the only vendor on-site actively contributing to its safety.
